ARTICLE - Writing your Thoughts and Feelings in Mystery Shops

As a new shopper, you might find be unsure about what to write about when filling out your survey forms. Often the clients are looking for information on your own experience i.e. your own thoughts and feelings. In order to write a good report and receive a high Shopper Stars Rating,we suggest you think about the following points.

1. Observe and explain what is happening around you.

e.g. "As I entered, 2 members of staff were available, but no one welcomed me."

2. How did that make you feel?

e.g. "I felt as though I was being ignored and it did not feel as though the members of staff were entirely focused on their role"

3. How could they do better next time?

e.g. "Even a smile or a nod would have helped" or "My hands were full so I would have been grateful if someone had helped me with the door".
